So, What's This All About?

This is a little pet project I've been working on. It's a collection of poems, thoughts, insights and essays on a few different subjects.  Some of these I never meant another eye to see....but what the heck!  This is me...here I am!

Available January 27, 2016.  Pre-order is active now.

A Family Member (week 4)

52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge

My son is amazing to me! Of course, most moms feel that way about their children, that isn’t anything too unique. But, then again, it is. Every soul is unique, and the bond we share is uniquely our own, unlike any other.

He’s my only son, my only child. I see myself and his dad reflected in his eyes every moment, but I also see his own, special light. He sees and experiences the world through his own eyes and senses, and when he shares his insights with me, I’m always enlightened.

Parenting him has been an amazing, rewarding experience, and I look forward to every new challenge and blessing that comes our way.

Love and Peace,

Kay

Family (Week 3)

52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge

I’m a firm believer that birth is coincidence, and you choose your family every day. That being said, I’m pretty grateful for the lovely birth family that I have, as well as the extended  non-birth family that I’ve chosen over the years. I’m surrounded by amazing, inspiring, and sometimes flawed, humans (their flaws only make them more authentic).

We’re all on this crazy journey, and to arrive at the finish line without any flaws or scars would mean that you didn’t live.

My family (blood and non-blood) are beyond precious to me.

Love and Peace,

Significant Other (Week 2)

52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge

I’m grateful for this guy.

He shows me new ways of thinking when I am stuck.

His words are always said with conviction and I know I can count on him.

He defends me when I need it.

He laughs with me when I’m silly (even though he’s the one that quotes Ghostbusters in his sleep).

I’ve become a better person since knowing him.

Love and Peace,
